Hello!

I have not had much luck in the last couple of weeks with the weather so unfortunately I have not been able to take many photos Sad

I have also been on holiday, to Barcelona. I noticed that a lot of contrails pass overhead the city, and the weather is almost perfect conditions even for December! Shame I couldnt bring my telescope with me Laughing

Here are some photos from saturday when I got back all planes heading West to the USA:
this Arkefly 767 flies right overhead every Saturday, supposed to be on UN20 which is a little more to the south:

Last weekend I had an occasion to test my new telescope - Synta 10" (1200mm/f4.7) with my Eos 350D. I think that results are quite good Wink

Hi,
Yes I have seen them in the polish topic thanks, VERY good photos, you can read the reg on most of them.
what are your camera settings?
My knowledge on cameras isnt too good.
I am also using a Canon EOS 350D, no lens attached, taking pictures straight through the eyepiece.
1/500 exposure.
ISO=200.

by the way, my fave is the SIA A346 Smile

I see that it is SIA21, which sometimes passes over my house Very Happy

I have subscribed all the pictures now with information about exposures, hope that will help you Wink

(but you are taking really good pics, so I'm not sure you need to look at those signs... especially becouse there is a lot of digital correction).
I like to use an exposure compensation -2/3 or -1 EV, but most of planes this weekend was flying with sun in eyes, so I was forced to use only -1/3 or even 0 EV compensation.

I'm using manual white balance setted up to "daylight" - even when I'm spotting early in the morning or very late in the evening. I'm also using remote cord and of course my camera is set up to Av mode (or in really hard light condition - M mode).

Aha, but please remember that your scope have light of 8 so it's nearly 2 times darker than mine Wink

I think (this is only a suggestion Idea

) you can try ISO 400 with manual 1/640 or 1/800 sec. When using Av mode you need to remember about exposure compensation otherwise you will get really hard times of exposure like 1/400 sec or even 1/320... Rolling Eyes

For now, no contrail photos because of dense fog follwed by cloudy skies for most of this week. Crying or Very sad

hello,
The only day which had blue sky was last thursday, and I only managed to capture one contrail before it clouded over again, however it was one which I had never seen before Smile

Korean Cargo airlines [KAL6281] operating CYHZ-EBBR on UM140 @ 10:30am. It is a new round the world service and flies over my house every thursday
